Grand Valley Leadership Academy (GVLA) was established in 2007 and ran yearly on the Western slope until Spring 2020, when the COVID-19 pandemic came to town. In conjunction with the City of Grand Junction, a research project was launched in 2022 to study the impact of GVLA participants between 2009 and 2019. A secondary purpose of the research was to understand the current state of leadership development within organizations on the Western Slope. We would like to share our preliminary findings from the GVLA research project with the community and query those attending on their current leadership development needs. Have the competencies for developing leaders changed over the past few years? Global research suggest that new skills are needed when developing leaders since the shift in workplace practices post-pandemic and our team would like to get a pulse-check of WCHRA attendees. Join us for an overview of our findings and a discussion specific to the future of leadership development on the Western Slope.
