How to Master Critical Intersections between Change Management and Continuous Improvement
Continuous improvement without understanding change management is akin to sailing a boat without a rudder. You’ll progress, but the direction and sustainability of improvements will be at the mercy of the wind and currents. After 30+ years of working within the industry, I’ve led and observed hundreds of continuous improvement efforts, some successful, many not so. Why does change “stick” sometimes, and other times, using the same continuous improvement methodology, is change rejected or sustainability limited? Why do some people adapt to change rapidly while others resist? Is there a way to anticipate and guide people through change that can help improve the success of continuous improvement initiatives? Why does change seem so chaotic?
