The traditional notion of committing to a single employer for an entire career is increasingly obsolete, akin to outdated technologies like pocket calculators and flip phones. Both employers and employees now embrace a more transient approach to the job market, prioritizing independence, autonomy, flexibility, and the pursuit of new skills and opportunities as they emerge. This shift requires a reevaluation of recruitment and selection policies and practices by employers, who may find themselves navigating unfamiliar territory. However, by reframing this paradigm shift as an opportunity rather than a risk, both employees and employers can realize favorable outcomes.
